MIKE THOMAS spent more than 14 years as a staff writer at the Chicago Sun-Times and is a regular contributor to Chicago magazine. In addition to writing many magazine articles (for Chicago, Smithsonian. Esquire, Grantland, Playboy and others), he is the author of two critically acclaimed books: You Might Remember Me: The Life and Times of Phil Hartman (St. Martin's Press, Sept. 2014) and The Second City Unscripted: Revolution and Revelation at the World-Famous Comedy Theater (Random House, Sept. 2009).

 

Throughout his decades-long career, Mike has written about a wide range of subjects — from movie stars and bestselling authors to famous musicians and business leaders. A veteran chronicler of comedy, he also has interviewed numerous big-name comedians and comedic actors, including George Carlin, Stephen Colbert, Phyllis Diller, Patton Oswalt, Joan Rivers, Jerry Seinfeld, Sarah Silverman, Jon Stewart and many others.
